She co-authored several papers, presenting conclusions at national & international symposia; and delivered lectures to Haematology registrars and trainee Biomedical Scientists.
Helen then utilised her knowledge within Specialist Services provision to contribute to the Statement of Need for a new national Laboratory Information Management System. This inspired a change in career to facilitating the implementation of IT systems. She supports a programme of continuous improvement and contributes to the IT strategy. She has developed effective communication skills, reaching out to build networks through hierarchies across the organisation and beyond.
Since 2009 Helen has been a governor of Berkeley Primary School. During this time she has developed the skills needed to both support and challenge the school; and has a clear and accurate view of the school’s strengths and areas for development. She has a secure understanding of performance data having been on the Staffing and Curriculum committee; but has also sat on the HT Performance Management panel and Staff Pay Review board. During this time, she has championed the establishment of a pre-school; breakfast & after school care; and holiday club. Helen collaborated in the school’s academy conversion and establishment of a MAT becoming a Trustee of Cotswolds Beacon Academy Trust.
