    Labelling the digestive system

    We had a few children who felt a little quesy this afternoon as we looked at the whole process of digestion, from mouth to ... well let's not go into details on here. The children labelled all parts and showed some great understanding of their learning with this. A great job by all. Well done year 4.

    Discovering information about a country

    Today for Geography, year 4 learnt about how we can learn about different countries by using a range of resources. We discussed Kenya and all the interesting things that we already knew and assessed photgraphs to see what new things we could learn from the photograph. The children came up with brilliant ideas and we learnt loads about Kenya! Well done year 4!

    Spanish dates

    Today we introuced ourselves to writing the date and asking what it was in Spanish. We've started developing our language skill and really enjoyed writing our resposes. Well done year 4!

    Seam allowance

    Today year 4 were learning about a seam allowance. We looked at the need to have a seam allowance and then designed a phone sock and making sure we left enough space for a seam allowance. The children came up with some brilliant designs! Well done year 4!

    Collaborative learning

    Today year 4 reflected on a year since the first national lockdown. We discussed our emotions, things we remembered and shared our ideas on a collaborative noteboard via our purplemash platform. It was brilliant to see the positive memories the children gave and the fun they seemed to have sharing ideas. Well done year 4!

    Animations stations

    After working with flick books last week, the children this week, applied their skills at creating their very own annimation on our purplemash platform. The children came up with some brilliant ideas and created some super animations, applying skill in the process. Really impressive year 4! Pixar might have some competition in a few years! Well done!

    Final routines

    We've been completing final routines as part of our gymnastics lessons this week. The children have been working hard to develop thier routines to perform, focusing on core stength, balance and grace. The children did a superb job! Well done year 4!

    Beachy Head lady

    Today in History we investigated the Beachy Head Lady. An African lady who was born in Africa but lived in Roman Britain and whose skelton was found in Sussex. She was potentially the first black person to live in modern Britain. We discussed why and how she might have arrived during Roman times and discussed migration and other aspect of history. The children came up with brilliant ideas and really showed some great learning. Well done year 4!

    Mono Printing in the woods

    Today we looked at mono printing in year 4, on a range of surfaces. We went into the woods and selected items that fallen off trees or different types of debris to make art. The children had lots of fun outside and finding different serfaes to paint on. Well done year 4!

    Flick books

    In computing, we're looking at creating animations. To appreciate the difficulties of this, we looked at creating a flick book to help prepare for how people do this on computers. The children gave this a great crack and really showed some superb skills. Well done year 4
