    Today we focused on our DNA and how it makes us unique. We discussed how we take things from our parents and ancestors and make us totally unique. We then discussed that our nurture can also impact on what makes us... Us.

    Today in swimming we focused on front crawl. We focused on getting our bodies in the right position and breathing. On a cold day for June the children persevered and showed some great technique

    DT - TINKERCAD

    Today in DT using 3D software we designed a viking style shelter. The children created some super ideas and made some wonderful objects. Well done year 4.

    Geography - World Environment Day

    For World Environment Day the children thought about the need to recycle and created a poster to highlight the need to recycle and how it can save. Even by reusing something for a different purpose or sending clothes to a clothing bank. Small changes can make a difference.

    PE - Swimming

    For our first swimming lesson this year, we had a look at ways to stay safe and even did some theory about rip tides and ways to stay safe. The children enjoyed their first dip. Well done year 4.

    History - 1066 n all that

    Today in History we looked at one of the most famous years in English history. We looked at how the Viking era in England ended and how William the Conqueror set about creating a dynasty that would create England and eventually Britain. We then looked at the sympathy that Harold had. I asked the children to run down the far end of the school field, have a battle (with a bush) then run back up the field for another battle. They found it hard and gained some appreciation for Harold and his army.

    New Book Alert - Me, My Dad and the End of the rainbow

    Archie has a secret... Which he's about to let us in on. Archie Albright is a 12 year old boy who's parents have broken up. They're struggling to readjust but there also appears to be something else.happening, but Archie doesn't know... This wonder book by Benjamin Dean is a wonderful tale of love and friendship. Can't wait to find out what happens

    PE - Sack Race and Javelin

    In our final practise before sports day, we enjoyed having a go at the classic sack race. We focused on technique and.jow we go about racing. We then focused on javelins and technique in throwing them accurately to ensure distance.

    Computing - Editing two images

    Today in computing we looked at how we could edit an image by using two images together. The children then had a go at making their images based on a magical creature. Using a range of images they created something unique and wonderful.

    RE - How Jews show commitment to God

    Today we incorporated all of our learning of the ways Jewish people show commitment to God. We talked about lots of different way and ranked them into our personal preference. The children gave some great ideas.
