    Today in science we started looking at states of matter. We discussed matter and the three states. We compared some drama linked to acting as different states of matter. We're looking forward to doing more.

    Swimming - games

    Today in swimming we just focused on playing games and being brave getting into the pool. The children were superb and for those that could stand it, we had lots of fun.

    RE - making agreements

    As part of RE today we focused on making agreements. We discussed how Jews made agreements with God and then focused on who we make agreements with. We then made agreements to follow this year.

    PSHE - Becoming a team.

    Today in PSHE we focused on becoming a team. We played games and tried to learn new things which hopefully will help us going forward and learning lots this year.

    Democracy - JLT vote

    Today in Year 4 we took part in democracy. Children who wanted to, were asked to prepare a speech to represent the class as JLT councillors. The children performed brilliantly and two excellent councillors chosen to represent us.

    Wow introduction to the World War One topic

    Today re got onto the field and reinacted the started of the first world war. The complexities and alliances that meant that Europe was plunged into war were fun to act out as children took the roles of countries involved in the conflict.

    New book alert. Adventures in time - The First World War

    We've started this new book to link with our topic this term. The adventures in time series written by popular historian Dominic Sandbrook focus on the people of history, not just the politicians and generals but the normal people who complete huge deeds. This book shares the horror of war as well as the significance of the Great War.

    Tour of London

    Today we were very fortunate to have a guided tour of London. We embraced the houses of Parliament, Parliament square, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham palace and St Paul's. Our wonderful guided dropped some facts bombs and we all learnt something new.

    We visited the tower of London. We saw the crown jewels, the white tower, which had previous Kings and queens weapons and armour and also the bloody tower, which shares the tragic story of the boys in the Tower and the demise of Walter Raleigh
