    Snack Helpers

    We have introduced snack helpers. Two children will prepare snack with an adult ready for snack time. Their role will be to make sure fruit and veg is cleaned and use appropriate knives and cutlery to chop with.

    Chicks

    As part of our topic Little Farmers we have also been looking at farm animals. Today we had the pleasure of meeting 3 new baby chicks. The children were able to stroke them and ask questions about what they ate, drank, did and slept.

    Focus Book - Jack and the Beanstalk

    To go with our topic we are reading and looking at the story Jack and the Beanstalk. We have used the story to help us learn about beanstalks and being kind. We have planted our very own Beanstalks and have created pictures using real leaves and paint.

    Today we added new soil to our tyres and prepped ready to add all our wild flower seeds. Each day we will water and check them to make sure they are growing!

    Construction

    We love construction at Little Jesters and you will often find that we are always adding and changing our materials. Today the children enjoyed the large bricks and were encouraged to build something special. One of the creations built was a 'Princess Castle' where team work and turn taking took part to make this amazing creation.

    Key features of a flower

    Over the last two weeks we have been learning about how plants grow. We have had the opportunity to plant our own plants and watch them grow and so far we have planted, tomatoes, lettuces, cucumber, runner beans and wild flowers. We have also been learning about the different parts of a flowers and vegetables.

    Growing wild flowers

    Today a small group helped Evie plant some wild flowers. Using their gardening tools they prepared and added soil and sprinkled the seeds spreading them evenly. They then finished off by ensuring they had enough water.

    St Patrick's Day

    The children had great fun celebrating St Patrick's day though a painting activity. They used fingers painting to create a bright green clover, exploring different textures and patterns.

    Whats a Magnet?

    The children explored how magnets work in the outdoor area using magnetic wands.The children made exciting discoveries as they tested various objects using curiosity and investigation skills to search for different items to see which ones were magnetic. They found that the gate, climbing frame bars, handles, wheelbarrow and more all were magnetic, and by the end we learnt that wood wasn't a magnetic item.

    Self -Portraits

    The children created paintings of self- portraits while looking closely at their reflections in the mirror. They observed their facial features such as eyes, nose, and hair and carefully added these details to their artwork.
